Facial Warts
Facial warts can be very bothersome and down right embarrassing for many people. It is a condition that is not all that uncommon so don’t feel too bad. Any type of wart can be quite annoying but one that appears on the face is the most unpopular because it is very difficult to hide and everybody looks at your face all day.
Rest assured there is treatment for facial warts. The cause of warts is HPV which stands for human papilloma virus. More often the appear on the fingers, hands, elbows and knees. Warts on the face are usually flat and pink and referred to as flat warts or facial warts. You can also get warts in other places such as the bottom of your feet and on the genitals.
There are over the counter remedies that you can use to treat your facial warts. One of them is salicylic acid. This is applied directly to the wart twice a day for many weeks. I have found this treatment to take too long and I did not get very good results. It could be that I was a bit forgetful and did not apply it every day as required. I know other people who have used it and they got good results. This medicine should be used on warts only but should note used on plantar or genital warts.
Another facial wart treatment I have used with some success is over the counter “freeze spray” which is used to freeze the wart. Freezing the wart causes a small blister to form beneath it which causes the wart to die and eventually drop off. Do not pick at it during this process. Let it fall off in it’s own time otherwise it may grow back. You should take great care when trying this remedy on facial warts because the skin on the face is delicate and you do not want to leave a scar. You should follow the directions in the box very carefully.

It is probably a better idea to ask your doctor to freeze your facial warts using liquid nitrogen. I have found that many doctors in the UK do not perform this treatment so you should check first before making an appointment.
There are also many natural remedies for facial warts (and for warts found elsewhere) and many of these treatments are a lot more gentle on the skin which is important when treating facial warts. You can see more information on these natural remedies here: Facial Warts Removal
